Information to the Media

The purpose of this website

Our aim is to educate the general public about genetic engineering in general and foods especially. Therefore we are using a simple non-academic style, writing in a way most people can understand.

Here you will find an independent, objective evaluation

Our standpoints are based on a interdisciplinary assessment by independent scientists. We are one of the few scientist organizations who are truly independent of corporate interests, that have heavily been suppressing the truth about genetic engineering by making many scientists and universities economically dependent on their support. We have no other interest than to find and present the real truth. Therefore, this is one of few places where you will find an objective evaluation of GE foods.

Our credibility

This website has been active since 1997 (first year under another domain name). From the very beginning we presented in principle the same opinions about genetic engineering as today.

Our critical stance against genetic engineering of foods and their release into the environment, was initially met with great skepticism and resistance, although we could point to scientific underpinnings, in the beginning based mostly on deductions from molecular biological knowledge but also on experimental evidence. Since then, our opinions have been confirmed by increasingly strong experimental evidence as well as experiences from agriculture and in no single respect have the evidence or experiences contradicted our original opinions. This proves that our interdisciplinary team of scientific experts had the competence to judge the issue realistically.

Our independent and objective conclusion is that that there enough evidence today warn that the release of genetically engineered organisms and the use of GE foods may have unpredictable potentially seriously harmful effects. Moreover, it is evident today that they are not needed to feed the world. Instead, they perpetuate unsustainable toxin-based agriculture that is harmful to the environment and to the health. Therefore they have to be stopped. This you will understand from the study of our website
