The Catania resolution

The resolution was formulated at an International conference in Catania (2002), where world leading microwave radiation experts discussed the present mobile phone safety standards. In short, these standards were rejected because they ignore well documented evidence proving that mobile phone radiation can influence and harm tissues far below the intensity levels allowed by present safety standards. This means that mobile phones that "comply with regulations and safety standards" are not safe at all. It also means that governments have been ignoring science in establishing safety standards, or they have been only listening to corrupt scientists who say what they want to hear, which has problematically common, see "Corrupt science.".

Excerpt from the Resolution

1. Epidemiological and in vivo and in vitro experimental evidence demonstrates the existence for electromagnetic field (EMF) induced effects, some of which can be adverse to health.

2. We take exception to arguments suggesting that weak (low intensity) EMF cannot interact with tissue.

3. There are plausible mechanistic explanations for EMF-induced effects which occur below present ICNIRP and IEEE guidelines and exposure recommendations by the EU.

4. The weight of evidence calls for preventive strategies based on the precautionary principle. At times the precautionary principle may involve prudent avoidance and prudent use.
