Suppression of truth turning untenable

US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has maintained that the effects of GE are the same as of conventional breeding and therefore GE foods are as safe as natural foods. However recently it has been uncovered that this denial of safety risks has been due to suppression of the truth by FDA. From documents, uncovered in a lawsuit it appears that scientific experts of FDA did warn that GE foods cannot be equated with natural foods and that unpredicatable effects may appear, see http://www.psrast.org/fdalawstmore.htm

This suppression of truth has become even more untenable now that the foremost national body of scientists in the US, the National Academy of Science, has warned about the possibility of unexpected substances in GE foods: "The mechanism for creating unexpected proteins or unexpected toxins or allergens would be pleiotropy"..."this may lead to unintended compositional changes", see "Genetically Modified Pest Protected Plants".
